Cooked rice pan-fried with various ingredients. チャーハン.

Also called yakimeshi. Dish from the Japanese-style Chinese cuisine (Chuka). Chinese: Chaofan.


Ingredients are small pieces of pork/shrimp/crab, onions, cooked egg, fish cake and peas. Chahan is often served with small bowl of clear soup on the side.

Different from fried rice found in authentic Chinese restaurants, as it uses the stickier Japanese short-grain rice and is flavored with soy sauce.
